Charlie Daniels Visits Charleston

Charlie Daniels performed at the 2007 Veterans' Day Celebration held at Patriot's Point. SCQOV Board members had an opportunity to meet Mr. Daniels and present him with a quilt that he later delivered to a wounded soldier. He also signed the group's guestbook.

 

 

Air Force Reservists Deliver Quilts to Germany

On several occasions, members of the 315th Airlift Wing have carried quilts to Germany on a C-17. The quilts are delivered to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center near Frankfurt, Germany.

Joy Kids from Summerville

The Joy Kids from Summerville Presbyterian Church were the first ones to make wall hangings. Their ages ranged from 4 year olds to high schoolers. They used fabric paint for their blocks. The children saw their finished wall hangings during Vacation Bible School, June 2005.

Sangaree Students Make Quilts

The first grade classes of Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Moon at Sangaree Elementary School in Summerville joined together to color blocks that were later heat set and assembled into wall hangings. The wall hangings have been hung in common areas of military hospitals for all to enjoy.
